Garmin: New Intraday & Summaries Metrics Added
As of Wednesday January 15, 2025, the following Inform API metrics will be populated when data is provided by Garmin. The changes include updates to the following resources:
- Summaries
- Intraday
Summaries Updates
The following data will appear in summaries records for users, when captured by their Garmin smartwatch or the Garmin Connect app.
These data metrics do not require additional permissions or scopes from the Garmin user so you will begin to see them populated automatically.

Intraday Updates
The following data will appear in intraday records for users, when captured by their Garmin smartwatch or the Garmin Connect app.
These data metrics do not require additional permissions or scopes from the Garmin user so you will begin to see them populated automatically if you are enabled to receive intraday records. You must be enabled to receive intraday data via Validic Inform to see this data.

These new intraday metrics will be reported as new intraday records in addition to the steps and distance intraday records that we already process for Garmin.
